The Sri Lankan Kabaddi team will fly to Pakistan to take part in the 3rd Asian Kabaddi Championship scheduled to take place from the 2nd of May to the 6th of May.

Besides Sri Lanka and hosts Pakistan, teams from India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Malaysia and Iran will also feature in the tournament set to take place in Wah Cantt in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

The Logo for the 3rd Asian Kabaddi Championship Circle Style (2016) was also launched at a press briefing held at Islamabad. The Trophy of this championship was also unveiled at the occasion.

Pakistan are the defending champions of the continental event having defeated archrivals India in Lahore in 2012. The championship was earlier scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 1 but now it will be held from May 2 to 6 to enable the live broadcast of the tournament.

The event was rescheduled in order to telecast it live on PTV Sports following the ongoing Pakistan Cup one-day tournament in Faisalabad.

Officials expressed hope that the championship would attract a huge crowd as Kabaddi was one of the popular games in the Pakistan administered Punjab province.
