Punjab vice president pastor Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday affirmed that the fifth Kabbadi World Cup 2014 would be held from December 5 to December 15.
Sukhbir said the elimination rounds would be played in Punjab region of Pakistan.
In an unofficial meeting here, Sukhbir, who is likewise holding the sports portfolio, has endorsed the names of proposed teams which incorporate India, Pakistan, Argentina, USA, UK, Scotland, Canada, Serra Leon, Spain, Kenya and Denmark in men’s rival.
The teams in ladies’ classification will be from India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Kenya, UK, Malaysia, Denmark and Mexico.
These teams would battle for the aggregate prize cash of Rs 6.97 crore out of which title victors in men and ladies classifications would get Rs 2 crore and Rs 1 crore individually, an authority discharge said.
Rs one crore would be given to runner-up men’s team while in ladies’ classification it would be Rs 51 lakh.
